The Dancer's Edge has recruited some of Omaha's most accomplished dance instructors, each of whom brings their own personal approach to the dance floor.
Instructor: Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Musical Theater
Dancing since the age of three at dance studios in Texas and Omaha, Traci continued her dance education at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She received her Bachelor's of Arts degree in Dance in May of 2006. While attending UNL, Traci was an instructor and coach at Club Kicks Dance and Cheer Studio. She received many choreography awards from area competitions. She assisted in designing new classes geared toward new dance forms and tricks. Traci's choreography has been seen on the dance teams of Clay Center and Bishop Neuman. Her choreography was also showcased in the UNL Dance Gala - an annual show by the dance department, as well as at the American College Dance Festival in April 2006. She has worked with artists such as Bill Hastings, Teresa Chapman, Dadisi Sanika, and many others. Through her works with Bill Hastings, Traci was honored to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in 2004. Traci has been a member and captain of the Skutt Catholic Dance Team, the Lady Lincoln Renegades Dance Team, and the Lincoln Capitols Dance Team. She has judged tryouts for Nebraska Wesleyan, Lincoln Southeast Dance Team, Lincoln Southwest Cheer Team, and DC West Dance Team. In 2014, Traci choreographed the musical Big Fish for Skutt Catholic High School.
As Director of The Dancer's Edge, Traci has strived to make dance accessible to dancers of all ages and abilities. She has created several levels of competition dance to open the competition experience to a diverse group of dancers. The Dancer's Edge opened in June of 2006 with a single dance room. In 2011, The Dancer's Edge expanded to two dance rooms, increasing the services offered to our dancers. In 2016, The Dancer's Edge expanded to three dance rooms, and increased services offered to our dancers even more. Traci is excited for the future of The Dancer's Edge and the continued success of our dancers.

Beth Gilbert was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She began taking dance at the age of 3 at Kitty Lee Dance Studio. She trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theater and acrobats and was a member of their competition team for nine years. Beth was also a member of the Skutt Catholic High School Dance Team and University of Nebraska at Omaha Dance Team. After high school she worked for Universal Dance Association as an instructor teaching dance camps across the Midwest. Beth has also taught classes at College of Saint Mary’s and Premier Dance and Gymnastics. Beth has been a member of The Dancer’s Edge Staff since 2008. She currently teaches ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, acrobats and musical theater and acts as Competition Director at The Dancer’s Edge. She has received choreography awards from Starpower Dance Competition for lyrical as well as Spotlight Dance Cup for tap and lyrical. Beth’s lifelong passion for the art of dance continues by teaching students of all ages and experience levels.

Katherine first began dancing at the age of 4, and started competing by the age of 7. Ever since she was a little girl, she knew that dancing was something she would want to do for the rest of her life. From her experience with numerous dance studios around Omaha including Dance Invasion, the Omaha Academy of Ballet, Motion 41, Nebraska Dance, and Synergy Tech, she found her home at The Dancer's Edge at the age of 14 in 2009. She has years of experience dancing competitively with group numbers, solos, duets, and productions along with attending many conventions around Omaha. On top of competing with her studio, she was also a part of her high school dance team. Her senior year of high school in 2014 is when she was not only a student at The Dancer's Edge, but became a part of the staff with taking on her own classes as a teacher. She has been with us ever since and she loves working with children of all ages.
Instructor: Ballet, Pointe
A native of New Jersey, Erin Alarcón received her dance training under Christine Taylor and Luba Gulyaeva of New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet. Erin earned her B.A. in dance performance at Mercyhurst University under the direction of Tauna Hunter where she performed both leading and soloist roles. During summers she studied with Eglevsky Ballet and Joffrey Ballet. She has worked with a number of guest artists including Laura Alonso, Bruce Marks, Vivi Flindt, and Bill Evans. Erin has studied abroad with Valerie Valentine of the Dutch National Ballet, danced professionally with SoMar Dance Works and Ballet Concert, and has appeared as a guest artist with Iowa Dance Theater performing the title role of Cinderella. With Ballet Nebraska, she has performed the principal roles of Giselle and Alice in Wonderland as well as the Sugar Plum Fairy in Erika OverturfF’s The Nutcracker. She has been featured in Mikhail Fokine’s The Dying Swan and as Fee in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Erin also serves as Ballet Nebraska’s Operations Manager and teaches classes and workshops throughout the state. This is Erin’s fifth season with the company.

Katie began dancing at the age of 2 at Dance Unlimited. She moved to The Dancer's Edge at age 10 and competed from age 11 to 15. Katie feel in love with expanding her knowledge with many different styles of dance. In High School she continued her technical training at local studios Just Dance and Nebraska Dance, and the Marian Dance Team. While a member of the Marian Dance Team, she showcased Jazz, Pom, Hip Hop, and their infamous kick line. As captain her senior year, Katie mixed the music and choreographed the routines that were used at Marian basketball games, Creighton Prep football and basketball games, Mt Michael basketball games and charity events. Also at Marian, Katie participated in all four musicals as a dancer, including Footloose, Children of Eden, The King and I, and The Little Mermaid. Katie is currently attending the University of Omaha studying social work. She loves all styles of dance and all types of people!

Emily began dancnig at the age of 2. She began comepting at the age of 5. Emily studied at Dance Invastion, Nebraska Dance, and The Dancer's Edge, which became her dance home in 2007. Throughout her years at The Dancer's Edge, she has competed in Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, and Pom.
Emily graduated from Concordia High School this past Spring and is thrilled to be working with the students at The Dancer's Edge, sharing both her knowledge and love of dance.

Erica is 22 years old and recently graduated from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in inclusive early childhood. She works at Fort Calhoun Community Schools as a first grade teacher. Erica started her dance career at the age of 3 with Tap and Ballet, and then grew into mostly Jazz with some Acrobats. At age 13, Erica switched studios to dance at The Dancer's Edge. At The Dancer's Edge, Erica did Jazz, Pom, Hip Hop, and Ballet. Erica was a part of our Competition team for a year when she was 15. Erica attended Marian High School and joined the dance team for two years as a Junior and Senior. She danced at The Dancer's Edge up until she graduated from high school.

Began dancing at the age of 3 with Sherry Anderson Dance Studios. Started Competitively dancing at the age of 7 with On Broadway Dance then with Studio "D" and began Ballet training with the Omaha Theatre Company leading to performances in shows such as "Holiday Fan Fair" and "Conservitoriette." At the age of 13 started competing nationally with Precision Dance Company placing in the top 10 with Jazz and Pom in Orlando, FL.
Tumbling experience comes from a competitive cheer background starting at the age of 8. Cheering for teams such as Elite Cheer, KWAA Panthers, Millard West Varsity Competition and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
She has also Choreographed and coached successful dance and cheer routines/teams such as "Xtreme All-Star Cheer, Club Kicks Cheer and Dance, Lincoln South-West Varsity and Tigers All- Star Cheer. "

Abby is SO excited to be teaching at The Dancer's Edge! Abby started dancing at age 3 at Mary Lorraine's Dance Center before moving to The Dance Authority, where she danced until she was 18. She studied dance at multiple other studios during her time at Mary Lorraine's Dance Center and The Dance Authority. While competing on TDA's company team, she also competed on the Skutt Catholic Dance Team for 4 years. With her high school dance team, she won 8 state titles, 6 regional titles, and placed in the top 15 at nationals in the first two years of the team competing. Abby has acted in musicals and plays in the Omaha area and plans to continue acting and dancing in the future. She is currently a student at The University of Nebraska at Omaha and is working on getting her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education with a minor in both Theatre and Deaf Education. She loves growing alongside her students and can't wait to see what her time at The Dancer's Edge brings!

Anna Minnick has recently graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln where she received her degree in Art Education. She ran Cross-country and Track and Field for the Huskers but was able to continue her dance training through their modern-based program. Through college she traveled to the American College Dance Festival and participated in several master classes. Growing up Anna competed at Dance Unlimited and was able to place nationally in solos and small groups. In high school she started training at Nebraska Dance, Omaha Theatre Company (Ballet Nebraska) and the Omaha Academy of Ballet. She was instructed under two former American Ballet Theater dancers and was annually graded through the Royal Academy of Ballet. She also participated in the Omaha Dance Project and the Nutcracker at the Orpheum. As a dancer Anna was selected in her junior year of high school, as the Nebraska Youth Artist of the Year. The summer before her senior year she was selected for the River North Chicago Dance Company intensive. That year she also traveled to dance at the Pulse convention under Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, and Laurie Ann Gibson. Anna is going to be an art teacher in the fall and is very passionate about working with kids and helping them reach their potential. She is incredibly excited to have found a home at the Dancer's Edge!
Nicole has been with The Dancer's Edge since 2015. Nicole is 21 and recently graduated from The University of Nebraska at Omaha with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in December of 2016. Nicole was a recreational dancer when she was younger and was on her high school cheerleading team for one year.
She loves learning more and more about each of our dance families and is so thankful to be able to share their lives with them!
Chrissy has been helping manage the front office at The Dancer’s Edge since 2012. She enjoys getting to know the families at the studio on a more personal basis. She appreciates having the opportunity to watch such a wide variety of children and their families grow not only in their personal affairs but also in their dancing. Chrissy was a recreational dancer through high school which helps her be appreciative of the talent of the amazing staff and students at The Dancer’s Edge!
